Job Summary: Answersincoming calls for the PBX system for the patients, employees, and customerswith Choctaw Nation Health Care and routes calls to the appropriatedepartment. Associate will assistpatients in verifying and scheduling appointments and update patientdemographics in RPMS, as needed.

PrimaryTasks:

  1. Answers phone promptly (within3 rings) using CNHSA greeting. Relaysall incoming, outgoing and intersystem calls in a professional manner. Routesall calls to the appropriate department and takes detailed messages properly.

  2. Scans RPMS for existingpatient charts. Establish temporarycharts for new patients. Screens patientcharts to verify eligibility and ensures all required documentation is on fileand up to date.

  3. Completes pre-registration andreminder calls for assigned providers. Along with contacting and rescheduling patients in the event of cliniccancellation.

  4. Announces emergency codes onoverhead page system.

  5. Submits medication refillrequests to appropriate pharmacy staff.

  6. Answers generic questionsasked by patients such as hours of operation, directions to the clinic, walk-inhours, services offered, etc.

  7. Responsible for monitoringpatient requests from MyCNHSA app and scheduling or forwarding requests asneeded.

  8. Other duties as may beassigned within the scope and competency of the associate.

RequiredEducation, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to communicate effectively bytelephone with the public, other departments and members of the medical staff

  • Computer knowledge with typing accuracy at35wpm

  • Excellent organization, dependability, andmultitasking skills

  • Must be able to protect patientconfidentiality at all times

  • Communicates with public with a respectfulimage.

TARGET

  • Computer knowledge with typing accuracy at 35

  • Ability to complete new tasks as they arise

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and the importance ofconfidentiality
