The Accounting Manager, under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, will be responsible for all aspects of all functional accounting processes; including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing and Payroll.

The Accounting Manager’s duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain proper review of the day to day functions of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and payroll systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting policies and procedures and OMB Circular A-133 audit guidelines.
  • Ensure that all input into the Fund Accounting system is entered accurately and in a timely manner. Post all information within the system.
  • Maintain various levels of vendor information; handle all vendor issues when necessary; review prepared 1099 forms at year end and process the 1099’s.
  • Oversee, review, and if necessary, help train the accounting employees.
  • Ensure proper compliance with Internal Controls.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required by the Position:

  • Verifies accuracy of data processing for accounting information.
  • Answers verbal and written inquiries about accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and payroll.
  • Has the responsibility to ensure that all information entered into the accounts payable system is complete, this is to include all of the following: prepaid orders, including receipt of all invoices, sorting, review for approvals and account numbers, requesting checks or processing interdepartmental transfers and invoice cancellation.
  • Has complete responsibility to ensure that all items billed and accounts receivable system is accurate, including invoice mailing, handling cash receipts and statements, and processing interdepartmental transfers.
  • Has complete responsibility to ensure that all information entered into the payroll system is accurate, complete and processed in accordance with the Snoqualmie Tribe's payroll schedule.
  • Prepares journal entries or checks those prepared by others.
  • Manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and payroll clerks; duties include assigning, reviewing and evaluating work.
  • Assists with special accounting projects.
  • Assists with annual and, when applicable, quarterly audits.
  • Prepares summary reports of accounts supervised.
  • Orders office supplies, furniture and equipment as authorized.
  • Ability to comply with department and Tribal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an Accounting Emphasis; or a combined equivalent of education and experience that demonstrates the abilities to perform the essential functions of the position is required.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years experience in accounting.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to comply with the Snoqualmie Tribe Employment policies, to include pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Must be available for travel for trainings and meetings.
  • May require extra hours during Audit periods.
