Summary: The Master Teacher/Instructional Coach serves a dual function. They will provide individual instructional coaching to students with identified needs for a portion of the day along with serving as the Master Teacher for our growing After School Program. The Learning Center Master Teacher works under the direction of the Coordinator in implementing the classroom environment and activities contributing to the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development of the children within the Program following local Tribal, and federal laws governing childhood learning within the grant requirements and provides supervision and mentorship to the Teacher and Assistant Teachers.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Occupational Child Care Competency Certificate, OR current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR current Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) credential, OR Certificate of mastery in ECE/CD, OR 30 college credit hours including at least 15 college credit hours in ECE/CD, OR 4-year degree including 6 college credit hours in ED/CD, OR 2or 4 year degree in ECE/CD, OR valid teaching certificate in early childhood education from the Oklahoma State Department of Education,
• Able to pass an adjudicated background check as required by Federal law after conditional offer of employment is made
• Must have positive verifiable work references
• Current Driver’s License
• Experience working with a Native American Tribe preferred
• Able to maintain strictest confidentiality and exhibit sensitivity to cultural and personnel issues and able to communicate with people from diverse functional areas, and convey complex data in tangible terms
• Experience working with special needs preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Follows a curriculum and budget that meets the established guidelines for the development and management of ESTO’s Children’s Learning Center
• Provides supervision and mentorships to Teachers and Assistant Teachers in coordination with the Learning Center Coordinator, by modeling best practices in an inclusive setting based on the mission and philosophy of the Center
• Assist the Learning Center Coordinator with the development and implementation of a classroom plan for curriculum, individual child planning, and family communication, and along with the Assistant Teacher will provide daily instructions for students
• Actively participates in scheduled training, parent meetings, individual coaching sessions, and the development of a personal professional learning plan
• Collaborate with and support colleagues in achieving professional goals
• Meets professional expectations as outline d in the Learning Center Staff Handbook
• Communicates and works harmoniously with diverse families and coworkers
• Represent the Tribe in a professional manner at all times, when working with Tribal members, in dealings with outside entities and situations with fellow employees
